DOROTHEA McEWAN 
Archivist. Historian.

Dorothea McEwan is Honorary Fellow of the University of London, first and long-time archivist at The Warburg Institute. The Warburg Institute is one of the world’s leading centres for studying the interaction of ideas, images, and society. Dorothea has been elected member of the Ethiopian Academy of Sciences in recognition of her impressive publication record and outstanding contribution to research in the intersection of religious history, history of ideas and art in Ethiopia in 2017. She was awarded The Austrian Cross of Science and Art in 2008 and The Grand Decoration for services to the Republic of Austria in 2020.
