ANITA ZIEHER
Actress. Improv theatre cabaret artist. Feminist.

Giving women a stage is the heartfelt concern of the actress, improviser, theatre maker and author. Since 2006, she has been producing the plays of portraittheater to raise awareness of the lives and works of famous women such as Lise Meitner, Hedy Lamarr, Käthe Leichter and Margarethe Ottillinger. She has played these women in hundreds of performances in German or English, including at the Austrian Cultural Forum in New York, Sorbonne University in Paris, CERN in Geneva and Koleso Theatre in Kiev. With Theatre Works as well as the legendary improv cabaret duo Zieher & Leeb, she ensures that women also have their say on cabaret and comedy stages.

Theatre works! Theatre is a powerful means to give people courage: be it through the inspiring story of a famous woman or through the power of spontaneity. What I want to say to women in particular with my work: Dare! Go your own way! Do what you are born to do!
